04 Apr SIGA Announces $50,000 for Hope’s Home Inclusive Meal Program
The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has donated $50,000 to Hope’s Home Inclusive Meal Program, which provides nutritious snacks and lunches to 360 children daily.
April 3, 2024 – Saskatoon, SK – SIGA has announced $50,000 towards Hope’s Home. As the only medically inclusive child care center in Canada, Hope’s Home provides care where kids with complex medical and typical needs learn, grow, and thrive. With on-site nurses that provide medical care to children, Hope’s Home is a national leader filling a gap that exists in child and infant healthcare.
Since 2005, Hope’s Home has been supporting families, outside of a hospital setting, with locations in Regina, Warman, and Prince Albert with a Saskatoon Child Care Center opening later this year.
SIGA’s funding will support the Inclusive Meal Program, at Hope’s Home locations across the province. This program provides healthy snacks and lunches, feeding more than 360 children daily at Hope’s Home.
“We are incredibly grateful for SIGA’s support of the inclusive meal program at Hope’s Home.” said Jacqueline Tisher, Founder and CEO of Hope’s Home. “This program will provide funding to our four Early Learning & Child Care Centers across the province. With SIGA’s funding, healthy, and specialized ingredients will be purchased that will ensure all kids receive the essential nutrients to help them grow. It will also support the purchase of adaptive kitchen materials such as adaptive cutlery that promote independence by allowing all kids to feed themselves.”
“Hope’s Home is the only service providers in Canada providing this unique care to children with complex medical needs and is a critical organization serving many families from across the province,” said SIGA President & CEO Zane Hansen.
In total, SIGA is investing more than $1.89 million in community funding across the province for its 2023-2024 fiscal year.
“Partnering with organizations like Hope’s Home is important to SIGA because of the work that they do with children. One of SIGA’s Community Investment pillars of focus is to support community initiatives with children,” said SIGA Vice President of Corporate Affairs Pat Cook.
