SIGA Volunteer Program - Giving Our Time and Talent

Sharing Success with our communities is about more than money.

Our guiding principle Wîtaskêwin refers to sharing our time and effort as well as our material resources.

Our volunteers are game changers in their communities.

Check out why our employees like to volunteer.
SIGA Volunteers are Game Changers

SIGA’s employer supported Volunteer Program embodies one of our guiding principles Wîtaskêwin. SIGA’s vision of Sharing Success refers back to Wîtaskêwin and speaks to the concept of sharing our land or, in today’s terms, sharing resources. This value directs us to give back to the communities where we live and work. Volunteers at our SIGA Casinos and Central Office, engage in a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year that help create a positive and lasting change in their local communities.

Our employee-driven Volunteer Program has participation from over 30% of our employees, who contribute thousands of volunteer hours annually.

Examples of volunteer activities include:

  • Food security initiatives – collecting food/raising funds or volunteering time at local food banks and soup kitchens
  • Community environmental clean-ups
  • Community BBQ fundraisers

SASKATOON FRIENDSHIP INN
“Our vision is to be a community without hunger and people with hope and so it’s with partnerships like SIGA that we’re able to continue those meals and not just serving plates but serving people. I think that’s a really important part of what we’re trying to do is to show kindness and compassion and dignity to everyone who comes through our doors, and SIGA is just a great team that actually helps us do that when they come. They are way more than just a corporate sponsor. We just call them friends and appreciate their willingness to be involved in the work frontline,” stated Sandra Kary, Executive Director of the Saskatoon Friendship Inn.

ANNUAL SIGA DAY OF SHARING
Every year SIGA and its casinos collaborate with various community-based organizations, volunteering on projects of their choice to give back in a meaningful and impactful way.

ANNUAL SIGA CHARITY PANCAKE BREAKFAST
In 2025, SIGA hosted its annual pancake breakfast in support of the White Buffalo Youth Lodge where we fed over 900 people and raised more than $65,000.

This year, SIGA Casinos and Central Office volunteers hosted free community barbeques, held annual community clean ups, prepared and served meals and built food hampers for our communities.

All year round, SIGA Volunteers continue to be game changers in our communities!

We give back through sponsorships , scholarships and volunteerism
