20 Nov SIGA’s Bear Claw Casino hosts first ever Fortnite Battle Royale Competition
November 22, 2018 – Carlyle, SK – Players are lining up to compete in Bear Claw Casino’s first ever Esports competition. Bear Claw is one of six casinos owned and operated by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA).
This Saturday, November 24, Fortnite Battle Royale players will be showing their skills in player to player combat to compete for over $3,500 in prizes.
Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play videogame that launched in fall of 2017, and has over 125 million players worldwide. Players start out on a virtual island and defeat other players until only one remains. Each Fortnite battle can host up to 100 players. While playing the game, hidden on the island are weapons and resources to create buildings, powerups, and defend against other player’s attacks.
Tristan Keshane, from Kamsack, SK, will be on hand to host the tournament. Tristan is a well-known Esports player and is the founder of Treaty 4 Esports. Tristan began winning in professional online eSports tournaments in 2010, and has since travelled to competitions in Texas, Florida, South Carolina, and Ontario. In 2016, Tristan took third place in the National Call of Duty tournament in Ontario.
“At Bear Claw Casino and Hotel, we like to focus on our guest experience by hosting a number of exciting events,” said Jonathan Pasap, Regional General Manager for SIGA. “The Fortnite tournament will reach out to support the growth of Esports and skill-based competition in Saskatchewan, while providing a new way to entertain our guests.
